A “Germaphobe” Couple Comes to Court Wrapped in Cellophane

“Court Case Friday”

I had a case of a couple charged with interfering with businesses. They were begging for money outside of liquor stores.

When they came to court, they they refused to sit down, to touch anything, and they had wrapped themselves in dozens of layers of cellophane. They crinkled when they moved

Apparently, they were “germaphobes.” They were taking Covid19 super seriously. They were terrified of germs in the courthouse. (Understandable.)

They refused to open the doors.  Instead, they waited by the doorway for someone to open the doors for them.

Later, my bailiff spotted them in the courthouse parking lot. They unraveled the cellophane. Then, they vigorously scrubbed their hands and feet in soap and water. They hosed themselves off and drove away in their van.

And they lived happily ever after.
